I really wanted to love Google+, I really did. I wanted a smarter Social network where people could share relevant information that had substance; where I could finally be among my peers and not have to spend every day ignoring and unfriending people who share useless facts about reality TV shows and partisan politics.Google listened to people like me and gave us what we wanted, but they probably shouldn’t have done that.
SpeakSocial TV offers an interactive experience for customers to engage with each other while enjoying your establishment. Roll On Sushi Diner in Austin Texas added two TVs to their restaurant over a year ago and have loved the conversations that it creates.
In this Video, Chip Reed of Roll On gives us his thoughts on what makes this interactive product so valuable for businesses of all sizes. If you would like more information about using SpeakSocial TV at your business, drop an email to info@speaksocial.net or call 512.905.9911!

Speak Social is taking the next leap into thought leadership in Austin … presenting at SXSW Interactive! Several members of our team collaborated on two stellar topics about the changing world of marketing. However, in a pool of 3,000 killer topics, we need your vote to stand out amongst the crowd! Take a look at our entries, we’d love to get your vote of approval. We know that it does require you to create an account with SXSW Panelpicker, but you’ll also get all the latest SXSWi updates. Is that really a bad thing?
Click on the headline of each submission to go to panelpicker.sxsw.com where you can make an account and give us the thumbs up!
Thanks so much to our dedicated fans for following our growth and sharing in our success!
We’re working on a little video project in the Speak Social office, and Hunter’s portion is hilarious. So we decided to film Andy, filming Hunter! The full project is quite hefty when you have a team of 16, so stand-by for the finished product coming soon!

I am so excited that Speak Social is once again on the scene during this year’s Austin Fashion Week. Local Austin designer Linda Asaf secured this year’s new and very exciting sponsor Formula 1 Racing and the Circuit of the Americas. This brought a new level of class to the event, as did the many F1 VIPs who were in attendance.

I must have something seriously wrong with me to put up with this stress. Everyone touts the benefits of entrepreneurship as if it is this choice that delivers you immediately into happiness … keep chasing that dream, fool.
At least while you’re struggling, poverty stricken, and stressing the hair from your scalp, you can say that no one tells you how to dress for the office. When you’re having a hard time hitting payroll, you can linger on your freedom to sleep-in whenever you like. These benefits do not tip the scales people, take my word for it.
Iâm not a battle-hardened entrepreneur by any means; Iâm only on my second business. I closed the first after seven years of fighting for growth. It turns out the partner structure was wrong. We all had different visions for moving forward. During that struggle I ended-up working on projects that were beneath my abilities and vision. I sacrificed just to find out we had it wrong from the beginning.

We recently worked on a campaign with the City of Austin regarding their Place It & Space It initiative. In Austin, amazing amounts of efficiency is decreased when residents place their trash and recycling cans directly next to each other on the street. Pick-up crews need at least 5 feet between the cans so that the trucks can back-in, quickly lift and empty the bins.
Here is a video that we made with the amazing talents of PowerHouse Animations here in Austin. Let us know what you think!

I see a trend that is disturbing, frustrating and most certainly annoying. It is likely that your Facebook feed is littered with the images of American soldiers returning home, abused puppies, Jesus on a cross, cancer victims and anything else that has the potential to tug at your heart strings. Attached to these images are the directions “LIKE if you agree” or “Share if you love America.” How can you say I don’t love my country if I don’t share your cheesy image? Yet, in an effort to show their allegiance to these causes, people follow these instructions without a deeper understanding of who’s cause they are really supporting.

It seems that Flickr is on the top of everyone’s minds when it comes to revitalizing the fledgling Yahoo! Hopes are high that Google recruit Marissa Mayer can breathe new life into the Yahoo! suite of services, and according to an article on Mashable today, it looks like viewers are demanding she begin with Flickr.

Thank you so much to all of the wonderful staffers that we met, and networked with, last night at the SXSW Panel Picker event. We always love a reason to head down to Molitov Bar after work! Most importantly thank you everyone for the many bits of insight into what the SXSW board is looking for in this year’s panel submissions.

Rumor has it that this year’s interactive portion will drastically cut back on the number of full “panels” to focus more on educational seminars coming from one or two presenters.

Speak Social is busy tying up the loose ends to our two submissions, along with assisting Rob on his entry for Whole Media Concepts.
It was really nice to emerge from the Speak Social lab for a few fun hours of networking with our Austin buddies.
Of course it’s always wonderful to run into one of our friends over at Kin Valley, Jim and his team are working on a really valuable product for families. We also met some wonderful folks from XOXCO … check them out!
